Schedule: Typically 1 hour per week for 10 weeks (after school); exact days/times vary by assignment
Location: On-site at a partner school or community site; varies by assignment
Start Date: Rolling openings based on partner schedules

Position Overview
Concorde Education is seeking an engaging, student-centered Business, Finance, and Entrepreneurship Instructor to facilitate short-format enrichment programming for school-age students and/or adult learners (depending on assignment). This course introduces practical financial literacy and business fundamentals through interactive, real-world learning experiences. Possible focus areas include personal finance, entrepreneurship, and small business operations.

Instruction should be accessible, relevant, and skills-based, with an emphasis on responsible decision-making, ethical considerations, and clear connections to everyday life. Course content is educational in nature and should be presented as general information (not individualized financial, legal, or tax advice). The instructor will deliver instruction across a typical 10-week cycle, with pacing adapted to learner needs and site logistics. Concorde Education provides the instructor and curriculum; instructors may adapt lessons as needed.

What You Will Teach
Learners will explore how money works in personal and business contexts, including budgeting, saving, banking, credit, spending decisions, goal setting, and basic business planning. Depending on the site’s needs and the learner group, the course may also incorporate entrepreneurship, marketing, basic accounting concepts, pricing, and business ethics through case studies, simulations, and project-based activities.

Major Topics Can Include

  • Financial goal setting and decision-making
  • Budgeting basics (income, expenses, fixed vs. variable costs)
  • Banking fundamentals (checking, savings, debit, online safety)
  • Credit and debt basics (interest, credit scores, borrowing responsibly)
  • Saving and investing concepts (risk, time horizon, compound growth—intro level)
  • Consumer skills (comparison shopping, needs vs. wants, scams and fraud awareness)
  • Entrepreneurship foundations (problem/solution, value proposition, target customer)
  • Business models and operations (costs, pricing, revenue, profit, simple cash flow)
  • Marketing basics (branding, outreach, customer experience, ethical advertising)
  • Workplace readiness and professional communication (pitching, teamwork, presentation skills)
  • Business ethics and responsible practices (honesty, transparency, community impact)
  • Career pathways in business, finance, and entrepreneurship

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a 10-session course with clear objectives and engaging facilitation
  • Implement interactive lessons using discussions, simulations, and project-based activities
  • Differentiate instruction to support varying readiness levels and learning needs
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment aligned to site policies and expectations
  • Communicate professionally with site staff and Concorde program contacts regarding attendance and session completion tracking
  • Adapt pacing and activities as needed while maintaining the intended outcomes of the program
  • Support learners in completing a culminating artifact that demonstrates applied learning

Qualifications (Required)

  • Minimum of 60 college credits (or Associate degree in progress/completed)
  • Content knowledge in personal finance, entrepreneurship, small business, economics, accounting, or a closely related area
  • Experience working with school-age students and/or adult learners in structured learning environments (based on assignment)
  • Strong facilitation skills, clear communication, and comfort leading group discussions
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional; able to follow site policies and program boundaries
  • Ability to present finance and business concepts in a practical, age-appropriate, and culturally responsive manner
