Job Description - Business Development Specialist

Description

Position Summary:

The Business Development Specialist is responsible for generating new mortgage business through proactive outreach, relationship development, and strategic market engagement. This role supports the institution’s growth objectives by identifying prospective clients, cultivating referral partnerships, and promoting mortgage products and services in alignment with regulatory standards and company values.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to acquire new mortgage clients and expand market presence.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with real estate professionals, builders, attorneys, financial advisors, and other referral sources.
  • Represent the institution at industry events, community functions, and networking opportunities to promote mortgage offerings.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate processing of mortgage applications.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify business opportunities and inform strategic planning.
  • Maintain accurate records of business development activities and client interactions using CRM tools.
  • Achieve or exceed established loan production goals and performance metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.

Secondary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Participates in all required BSA training and demonstrates knowledge of BSA relative to job responsibilities.
  • Responsible for security as it applies to this position.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s of degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in mortgage lending, financial services, or business development.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of mortgage products, underwriting processes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven ability to generate leads, build relationships, and close sales.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and customer service orientation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms.

Salary Description

$12 - $15/hour
