Empower Me delivers multilingual education, support, and coaching services to ensure underrepresented communities have access to energy, climate, and home retrofit programs.

Community Power supports Indigenous Nations to build, renovate, and improve community housing.

Home Upgrades Program provides fully subsidized energy retrofits to improve affordability for households living in energy poverty.

About the Opportunity

Kambo is seeking a Business Energy Advisor (BEA) candidate to join our team in California. As a BEA, you will support the Kambo work in support of a Southern California community-focused business program. The Community Business Program offers a suite of energy efficiency services for hard-to-reach commercial businesses. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering energy-efficiency support services to business customers throughout Southern California. Serving as a Business Energy Advisor supports program offerings by being the single point-of-contact for all program services -- energy efficiency upgrades, benchmarking and as an energy efficiency advisor. Business Energy Advisors will assist in enrolling customers for program participation, conducting site assessments, providing project updates, and identifying additional program offerings from local utilities, CCA’s and other agencies. Business Energy Advisors will serve to support businesses in non-traditional methods such as keeping abreast of grants, funding opportunities, incentives and rebate options regionally. Business Energy Advisors will build long-term relationships with businesses and engage regularly to support customers as they continue to strive to reduce bill costs. As a Business Energy Advisor you will support and participate in Community Workshops to help raise program awareness, engage the local community and educate commercial businesses.

The successful candidate will receive training through an energy efficiency career training program which offers advanced-level courses designed to meet the needs of the clean energy job market. We will help prepare candidates to meet the needs of the program, gain real world technical knowledge and serve as a vital component of the program team. The ideal candidate will possess the right mix of initiative, encompass confidence, clear communication, engaging delivery, desire to learn, and join a thriving field. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about clean energy and serving their community.

The ideal candidate will reside in Riverside or San Bernardino County. 

Part-time, minimum 20 hours, maximum 32 hours per week (no overtime, hours not to exceed 32hrs/week). 

Flexibility in hours, possible evening and weekends. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Participate in, engage with, and learn the materials presented during education and training program.


• Collaborate with and support the program team delivery team to conduct outreach to potential customers, including presentations, and one-on-one meetings as needed.


• Complete equipment assessments with customers that align with program offerings, gather required photos and other necessary documentation to make recommendations. 


• Present the corresponding recommendations for services offered by the program and gain commitments by customers to proceed through obtaining necessary signed documents and other required customer information.


• Collect, analyze, and maintain project data to ensure compliance with existing project delivery processes.
  Proactively engage with underrepresented customer segments to ensure equitable program access and benefits.


• Support the successful completion of energy efficiency projects from beginning to end by maintaining communications with the customer and coordinating with the program delivery team. 


• Support community workshops by serving as a speaker, displaying active listening and facilitating engagement. 


• Other duties as assigned to support program delivery and the Energy Advisor position.

• Eligible to work in the United States.


• Must have access to personal vehicle.


• Valid driver's license in the State of California.
