Description

JOB SUMMARY: This position performs food service work involving preparing, distributing, and serving food and beverages; cleaning equipment and work areas; maintaining inventories and supplies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Greets guests and accurately completes their food orders.
• Provides assistance with preparing meals.
• Distributes and serves meals, beverages, and snacks.
• Cleans dining, service, and food preparation areas.
• Cleans and sterilizes dishes, kitchen utensils, and equipment
• Maintains and refills supplies of condiments and similar items as needed.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS ROLE:

• Knowledge of food preparation methods, food storage and preservation, and sanitation regulations.
• Ability to prepare and serve food; to clean dining, serving, and food preparation areas; and to maintain accurate records.
• Ability to greet customers and maintain a friendly disposition.
• Develop competence with basic cash handling; basic math skills to provide proper change.
• The person needs to be a self-starter, self-directed, detail-oriented, and have the ability to multi-task.
• Strong organizational, phone and writing skills are required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Experience in food service and customer service experience preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

• The employee must occasionally lift, and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally move or lift up to 30 pounds, stand for long periods of time and operate kitchen machinery.  
• Position may require frequent bending, stooping and walking.
