CAFETERIA and JANITORIAL ASSISTANT 
Saint Patrick, situated in McEwen, Tennessee, is searching for a Cafeteria and Janitorial Assistant who will imbibe our school mission and provide a positive cafeteria experience for our school children.

Work Hours
While school is in session:    9:30-3:00 (earlier if there is a delivery)
Limited Summer Hours available for maintenance
School Holidays:                      Not required to report when school is not in session.
In-service Days:                       Only Faculty Retreat required attendance. Not required to report to any in-service programs unless asked by principal
Snow Days:                               Not required to report when the school is closed because of dangerous weather, though exceptions may be made by the Pastor or Principal
Reports To:                               Cafeteria Manager

JOB GOAL:    To provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean and efficient place in which to eat, play and develop.

?Cafeteria Assistant:

• Assist the cafeteria manager in her responsibilities
• Clean pots, pans, trays and all other eating and cooking utensils
• Keep tables and floor clean during and after lunch
• Empty trash
• Set up and tear down lunch tables in gym

Other responsibilities:

• Dust mop gym floor every day. Wet mop once a week.
• Keep maintenance closet in order
• Keep mops clean, especially wet mops
• Use correct cleaning supplies and use them responsibly
• Check all doors to make sure that they are locked before you
• Notify principal if you notice that something needs to be repaired
• Clean bathrooms in school mid-morning or midday.
• Assist with flow of traffic before dismissal, being sure those pick up students line up cars in parish parking lot according to direction given from the front office.

Requirements

• Able to pass a TBI background check
• Can follow directions and anticipate needs
• Is friendly and community minded

Physical Demands: The job required standing and walking for at least 5 hours each day. Bending and stooping are required. Heavy lifting of pans and cases of food is required. Cases of food usually weigh no more than 50 lbs.
