Paws With A Cause® is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Part-Time Canine Care Closers. This role is perfect for those who have a passion for animal care and are looking for flexible part-time work. As a Canine Care Closer, you will be responsible for the evening closing routine for our dogs in the kennels, ensuring they receive their last break before bedtime. This position is ideal for high school students, college students, or anyone who loves dogs and is looking to earn some extra income. Schedule:
- Part-time position requiring 12-16 hours per week
- Shifts are from 4:30/5:00 PM to 8:00 PM
- Two-week rotation:
- Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday
- Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday
Compensation:
- Starting wage of $15/hour

Position Summary
The Canine Care Closer is primarily responsible for the evening closing routine for dogs in the kennels in Canine Village. This includes final bathroom breaks for the dogs, light-housekeeping, and carrying out enrichment plans proposed by the trainers.
Essential Responsibilities
- Final bathroom breaking for dogs in kennels in Canine Village for the night
- Administering medication for dogs in the Canine Village.
- Finish dishes, laundry, and Canine Village building night clean-up protocols
- Carry out individual dog enrichment plans as proposed by trainers
- Light housekeeping (bathrooms, hallways, conference rooms) in building C admin space as needed
- Vet triage support for dogs in recovery, isolation, or watch protocols based on vet department instructions
- Puppy triage support for puppies on campus based on vet/breeding department instructions
- Other duties as assigned
Non-Essential Responsibilities
- Provide support to staff for evening events in Building C
Supervision Received
- Specific Direction – Follows established work procedures. Receives periodic checks for performance. Refers unique questions/conditions to immediate supervisor

Requirements
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or G.E.D, at least 16 years old
- Experience with animal handling is a plus
- Prior janitorial or cleaning experience a plus
Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Possess the ability to read canine communication and give appropriate responses
- Ability to work weekends
- Ability to handle all sizes and breeds of PAWS animals, which could weigh in excess of 100lbs, while moving them from one location to another acceptably and safely, including correcting dogs on a leash
