Caregiver

Job Summary:
Village Caregiving - Charleston is seeking a compassionate and dedicated caregiver to join our team in Elkview, West Virginia. As a caregiver, you will provide support and assistance to patients in their homes, promoting their overall wellbeing and comfort. This is a part-time, hourly healthcare/medical job where you will be responsible for providing individualized care to each patient. This is an individual contributor role where you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those in need. The compensation for this position is $11 to $14 per hour, paid semimonthly.

Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with daily tasks including bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating
- Follow the care plan 
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients
- Communicate any changes or concerns in patients’ health to appropriate healthcare professionals
- Document patient progress and report any significant changes to the appropriate personnel
- Ensure all patient information is kept confidential and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Promote independence and self-care for patients
- Follow all safety and infection control measures

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred but not required
- Compassionate and empathetic nature
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Time management and organizational skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
