What will my role be? Each client is different, therefore we customize a client’s care plan around their needs. Common home care duties are personal care, meal planning and prep, companionship and medication reminders.

What are the hours and pay? We offer flexibility to maintain your desired schedule and a healthy work-life balance. We offer both shorter and longer hours, days, and/or evenings, weekdays and/or weekend.  We also provide competitive wages and benefit options.

What qualifications do I need? We believe a caregivers love for building relationships with their clients is as important as their professional qualifications. Above all else, we are searching for positive and hardworking people who are passionate about caring for others. We also provide learning and education opportunities.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND PERSONAL ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Must be eighteen (18) years of age.
• Demonstrate sympathetic attitude toward caring for others.
• Previous experience in private duty home care preferred.
• Ability to listen and communicate clearly, fluently and diplomatically orally and in writing.
• Ability to remain flexible, resilient, calm and maintain a sense of humor; and present a well-groomed professional image.
• Ability to generate goodwill for the Agency with clients, their family members and other referral sources. Demonstrate a strong commitment to client service excellence.
• Possess and maintain current TB testing.
• Ability to lawfully work in the U.S.

• Kalamazoo County: All County
• Van Buren County: Mattawan, Paw Paw, Lawton, Lawrence

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

• Sitting, standing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping, stretching, stooping, walking, climbing stairs and moving intermittently during working hours.  
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.  
• Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetic that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met. 
• Must be able to properly operate office equipment.  
• Must      be able to maintain verbal and written communication with co-workers,      leadership team, Angel Mentors, clients, family members, vendors and all      business associates within or outside the Agency.
• Must      be able to work with individuals with altered states of mind and      understand the risks when working with these individuals.  This      includes but not limited to yelling, hitting, kicking, punching, throwing      objects, biting, and other negative behavior.
