Caribou Shift Supervisor - Part Time

Job Summary

The Caribou Coffee Shift Supervisor manages daily operations during their shift, ensuring smooth operations, excellent customer service, staff management, and adherence to policies. They lead by example, motivating the team to meet sales and operational goals while promoting Mackenthun’s Exceptional Experience through a positive atmosphere, greeting customers, taking orders, and preparing products efficiently. 

Key Responsibilities

Staff Supervision & Training:

• Supervise and support baristas to ensure smooth operations.
• Assist in hiring, training, and coaching staff.
• Provide feedback for performance evaluations.
• Ensure adherence to company policies and food safety standards.
• Foster a positive, motivating work environment.

Customer Service Excellence:

• Maintain high customer service standards.
• Greet customers, take orders, and process them accurately.
• Resolve complaints promptly and professionally.
• Build relationships with regular customers.

Operational Management:

• Oversee daily operations to ensure efficiency.
• Assist with inventory management and supply ordering.
• Enforce safety, cleanliness, and equipment maintenance standards.

Financial Oversight:

• Manage cash handling and complete cash-outs.

Team Development & Motivation:

• Provide guidance and support to achieve operational goals.
• Lead by example with excellent service and teamwork.
• Resolve staff or customer issues efficiently.

Marketing & Promotions:

• Assist with promotional campaigns and events.
• Maintain a welcoming atmosphere to promote repeat business.

Equipment Maintenance:

• Ensure equipment is cleaned and maintained.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and coordinate repairs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Customer service or coffee shop/restaurant management experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP certification a plus, can be obtained after hire).
• Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written).
• Basic computer skills, including POS systems and Microsoft Office.
• Availability to work an average of 16-29 hours per week.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

• Must be able to stand for long periods, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Exposure to hot equipment, cleaning chemicals, and a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to handle repetitive tasks and work in a team-oriented, busy atmosphere.
