Catholic Music Director

Job Title: Catholic Music Director

Location: Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, Memorial Chapel

Hours: Approximately 10-12 hours per week

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in sacred music, Musical Performance, or related field preferred
• Demonstrated experience as a music director in Catholic worship settings, with proficiency in playing piano, organ, or similar instruments.
• Experience working with and directing choirs and musical ensembles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct music from the piano, organ, or keyboard during worship services.
• Serve as the lead vocalist/cantor as needed.

• Conduct weekly music rehearsals with choir members, musicians, and volunteers, ensuring all participants are well-prepared for upcoming services.
• Prepare detailed music selections and instructions.
• Provide all necessary musical support, including prelude and postlude, offertory, hymns, choruses, spiritual songs, and special music that enhances the worship atmosphere.
• Direct, coach, and integrate all musicians and vocalists involved in the music ministry, ensuring cohesive and stylistically appropriate performances.
