Job Title: Certified American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter

Job Type: Part-Time

Duties:

• Provide in-person ASL interpretation services for an employee at the Northern Prairie Wildlife Research Center during monthly All Hands meetings and other large meetings as needed.
• Translate spoken English to ASL and vice versa during meetings, ensuring clear communication between hearing and deaf staff.
• Ensure 95% accuracy in interpretation for non-technical terms.
• Facilitate effective communication by ensuring both hearing and deaf staff understand actions required after meetings.

Requirements:

• Certified ASL Interpreter (National Interpreter Certification, Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, or equivalent).
• Minimum 3+ years of professional experience providing ASL interpretation in professional settings.
• Proficient in sign-to-voice and voice-to-sign interpretation.
• Experience with virtual meeting platforms like Microsoft Teams is a plus.
• Strong time management and adaptability to meet attendance requirements for scheduled meetings.
