Job Title: Medical Assistant – Family Practice

We are looking for a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team and provide top-notch support to our physicians and patients in a warm and friendly environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with patient examinations and minor in-office procedures
- Obtain and document patient vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints
- Administer vaccinations, injections, and medications as directed
- Perform phlebotomy, specimen collection, and basic laboratory tests
- Conduct EKGs and assist with diagnostic screenings
- Prepare and sterilize exam rooms, instruments, and medical equipment
- Handle prescription refills and prior authorizations under provider supervision
- Assist with wound care, dressing changes, and other direct patient care tasks
- Educate patients on treatment plans, preventative care, and medication instructions
- Coordinate patient scheduling, referrals, and follow-up appointments
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control protocols
- Provide translation services (if applicable) for patients needing assistance
- Support front desk operations, including answering phones and checking in patients when needed
Qualifications & Skills:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Required); Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA) preferred
Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a family practice or primary care setting (Preferred)
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of family medicine procedures and patient care
- Proficiency in EMR systems (e.g., [Epic, eClinicalWorks, etc.])
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
