Job Description - Chapel Musician

POSITION TITLE: Chapel Musician

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITES: Shall provide Music for Protestant and Catholic services necessary to support the religious music program

Requirements:
- Applicant shall have a minimum of two years of experience playing in a church congregation.
- Applicant shall be able to effectively play the piano and or electric organ.
- Applicant shall be able to sight read music.
- Applicant shall be able to play a wide variety of music from traditional church hymns to contemporary church music in order to support all Catholic and Protestant Services.
- Applicant shall be prepared to provide basic musical instruction to children, youth and adults.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and coordinate all vocal music with the Chapel Point of Contact.
- Select Music appropriate to seasons of the church year.
- Make recommendations for additions or deletions to the music library to the Chapel Point of Contact.
- Provide accompaniment for at least one catholic and one protestant choir rehearsal per week and direct rehearsal.
- Lead the adult choir from the electric organ and or piano during the worship services.
- Direct children's choir when appropriate.
- Provide electric organ and/or piano music for special services such as memorial services and others including National Day of Prayer, Easter Sunrise and Vigil ,asses.
