Child Care Attendant

Description

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for children, ages 3 months to 10 years old.
• Participate with the children in fun and creative activities
• Provide a safe learning environment, always ensuring the safety and well-being of children
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with children and parents
• Communicate with parents regarding children’s daily activities and interactions with other children
• Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments
• Assisting children when necessary tasks regarding snacks and meals, dressing, toileting and/or diapering needs, and making sure all children have clean hands, face, and diapers
• Consistently interacting in a positive developmentally appropriate way with the children; role modeling appropriate behavior and language for children
• Ensures that classroom is consistently clean, safe, and organized
• Follow all Bridgewater childcare policies and procedures

Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Previous experience in childcare, teaching, or other related fields
• Ability to create a fun and engaging environment for children
• Passionate about working with children and ability to build rapport with children
• Positive and patient demeanor
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Have reliable transportation.

Skills:

• Proven experience as preschool teacher or experience in early childhood education
• Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
• Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
• Excellent communication and instructional skills
• Ability to act as mediator between children
• Patient, friendly and reliable
• Current certification in adult/child and infant CPR/AED and First Aid
