General Statement of Duties:
This position will help operate the Child Watch area in the CRC building. Child Watch will be for children of patrons while parents and/or guardians are using the CRC. Child Watch Attendants will be responsible for supervising and entertaining children ages 3 months to 10 years old.
Primary Duties: The Child Watch Attendant is responsible for all the necessary primary care for infants, independent and group activities for toddlers, and direct supervision of older children. Primary job is to ensure the safety and security of all the children while in Child Watch care.
Supervision Received: Works under the general guidance and direction of the Facility Supervisor and Facility Manager.
Essential Duties: The following are examples of primary duties assigned to this position. Other related duties may be assigned.
- Facilitate simple activities for participants such as: arts, crafts, and active play.
- Track daily visits of participants and membership status. Ensures that all safety precautions are taken when receiving and releasing children to the parent/guardian.
- Must be able to communicate well with children. While portraying an upbeat and friendly demeanor with participants, family members, and guests
- Organize and store toys and materials to ensure order in Child Watch area. This includes, sanitizing toys, play equipment, and completing the daily cleaning list
- Follows through on duties listed in the work plan as well as other duties as are necessary and as are assigned.
Position Qualifications:
Experience: Prior experience supervising children preferred, but not required.
Education or Training: Must be 18 years of age or older.
License and Certification: Must be CPR/First Aid Certified, or willing to become certified (training will be provided by MRD).
Work Environment: Working hours will include mornings (8am-12pm), evenings (4pm-7pm), Saturdays (830am-1145am) with the potential of Special Events. Must be able to work in a loud, fast-paced environment.
Physical Conditions: Must possess the ability to safely lift and hold children, set up play equipment, and pick up toys. Child Watch includes the indoor facility with outdoor access to a playground area. This position can be affected by seasonal weather.
Compensation: Position is part-time with hours not exceeding twenty nine (29) hours per week.
