Job Description - Childcare Specialist

Description

We are looking for a fun, compassionate, and dedicated Childcare Specialist to plan children’s activities and provide childcare for children who have been impacted by relationship violence and/or sexual assault at the agency non-residential office and emergency shelter.

Reports to: Operations Manager

Primary Functions

  • Train and supervise childcare interns and volunteers as needed
  • Coordinate age appropriate children’s activities and childcare
  • Provide support for parents of child and adolescent victims
  • Ensure needed supplies are available
  • Keep childcare rooms clean and organized
  • Set limits as needed to ensure safety for all children
  • Monitor children at all times.
  • Participate in DCFOF staff and education meetings as requested

Requirements

Prerequisites:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

Preferences:

  • Experience working with children
  • Bilingual in Spanish

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
  • Ability to easily climb stairs
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
