Children's Neighborhood Museum Attendant

The Round Lake Area Park District is seeking a friendly, reliable individual to oversee our Children’s Neighborhood Museum during open hours throughout the year. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to earn supplemental income in a fun, low-stress, and rewarding environment.

Our Children’s Neighborhood Museum is a tot-sized replica of a town designed especially for young children. In this imaginative space, kids ages 1–6 explore community roles through interactive areas like a market, gas station, and doctor’s office.

Position Schedule:

• Mondays & Tuesdays: 3:45–7:00 PM


• Wednesdays: 12:15–3:00 PM


• Saturdays: 8:15–11:30 AM

Additional hours may be available based on rentals and special events.

This position also serves as a backup Rental Attendant on Saturdays, providing additional opportunities for hours.

What We’re Looking For:

• At least 18 years old


• Outgoing, energetic, and welcoming personality


• Strong communication skills and ability to engage with families and young children


• Ability to work independently and handle unexpected situations


• Interest or experience in education, childcare, or youth programming is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet guests warmly and create a positive, welcoming environment


• Maintain a clean, organized environment by restocking and sanitizing materials before, during, and after use or rentals


• Support rentals as needed

This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys working with children, values flexibility, and is looking for a consistent, part-time position to supplement their income.
