Cleaner Part Time

Job Description: Responsible for keeping buildings in a clean and orderly condition and presentable to the general public.

• Monday - Saturday

Primary Responsibilities: To carry out general cleaning duties to the agreed standards and work schedules provided including but not limited to the following:

• Perform general cleaning duties (i.e., cleaning, vacuuming, dusting, sweeping) at a maximum quality level


• Gather and empty trash into waste bags, and carry these to collection points replacing trash can liner as needed


• Service, clean, disinfect and restock restroom supplies (i.e., toilet tissue, hand towels, and hand soap do same for feminine hygiene product trash liners and toilet seat cover papers were applicable)


• Dust furniture, fixtures, woodwork, machines and equipment


• Dust walls, ceilings, vent covers as needed


• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors


• High dust (with high dusting tool) all areas out of normal reach as needed

Job Skill Requirements:

• Complete assigned duties within the budgeted time allotment


• Maintain a nightly time sheet with accurate time spent working


• Maintain punctuality and good attendance to assigned shifts


• Adhere to company code, policies and operating procedures


• Project professionalism and maintain excellent customer relations


• Observe precautions required to protect customer property and report any damage immediately to supervisor


• Keep equipment clean and functioning; report all issues to your supervisor


• Ability to perform routine maintenance activities to equipment used to perform nightly cleaning duties (i.e., cleaning of vacuum cleaner dirt collection cups and filters)


• Ability to apply common-sense understanding to perform simple tasks


• Ability to withstand a moderate amount of physical labor including but not limited to standing, stooping, bending, and lifting/moving up to 50 pounds.


• Maintain building security by performing such tasks as disarming / arming security systems and locking doors.


• Requisition supplies and equipment needed for performing nightly cleaning duties


• Maintain adequate inventory of supplies to perform nightly cleaning duties


• Mix water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications


• To provide coverage for co-workers as may be occasionally required


• To carry out such other duties which are consistent with the nature of the job
