Job Description - Clinical Director Acute Services Psychiatry & Behavioral Medicine

To provide oversight to Psychologists, Clinical Supervisors and Mental Health Therapists to ensure the highest levels of quality, service, and cost-effective care are provided to patients and families. Develop and direct clinical orientation, continued competency, clinical standard work, and optimal professional development for the clinical team. Work collaboratively with the Acute Services Medical Director to formulate the overall direction and quality of the acute services Psychiatry Programs. Responsible for the hiring of Psychologists (PhDs) and Mental Health Therapists (MHTs) and communicating and coordinating the advancement of organizational and department/division goals. Represent the PhDs and MHTs on the leadership team in the provision of overall direction for the practice of PhDs and MHTs in the department. Drive continuous performance improvement, quality improvement, and education and research efforts delivered by the PhD/MHT team.

Clinical role: Provide direct clinical oversight and clinical management oversight of patients in the inpatient psychiatry unit and Crisis Stabilization Unit. Play a vital role in the implementation continuous improvement efforts and quality improvement projects.

  

Required Education and Experience
PhD in clinical psychology, with specialization in child clinical psychology from an APA-accredited training.
Completion of an APA-approved internship.
Formal post-doctoral training in an appropriate area of specialization.
Minimum of 2 years clinical experience post licensure.
May work evening & weekends as required.

Required Credentials
Licensed as a Psychologist in the State of Washington.
Prior to start of employment, must obtain, and maintain in good standing, medical or allied health professional staff privileges that are not limited, revoked, suspended, conditioned, or probationary, except for normal probationary periods due to initial appointment.
Any and all medical or allied health professional staff privileges at Children's will terminate automatically upon the termination of the individual's employment at Children's; termination of employment does not prohibit the individual from seeking medical or allied health professional staff privileges at Children's as a non-employee in any category for which the individual qualifies.

Preferred
Post-doctoral level experience in clinical psychology.
Experience in a pediatric and academic medical setting.
Clinical supervision experience.
Experience with multi-system involved children with severe emotional and behavioral problems.
Experience with the King County MHP and Washington State Mental Health WACs.
Experience providing comprehensive intake evaluations.
Experience with evidence-based practice.

Compensation Range

$142,991.00 - $214,487.00 per year

Salary Information

This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
