Certified Caregiver Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

• 
  

  Provide general homemaker care, light housekeeping such as: grocery shopping, preparing meals, doing laundry, making beds, dusting, pet care, etc

  
  


• 
  

  Personal Interaction: engaging in companionship and conversation, playing games, participate in crafts, mailing letters/bills, etc

  
  


• 
  

  Social Interaction: planning outings/visits/trips, visiting friends and loved ones, transportation services to pharmacy, lunch, religious services, movies, etc

  
  


• Activities of Daily living: eating, dressing, toileting, medication, transferring, using walkers, hygiene: bathing, grooming, shaving, teeth/denture care, etc

  Alzheimer's and Dementia care:

  
  
  
  
  • Stimulating mental awareness
  
  
  • Playing memory-enhancing games
  
  
  • Helping with crafts and reading
  
  
  • Encouraging social interaction with family and friends
  
  
  • Stimulating healthy conversation
  
  
  
  


• 
  

  Keep an eye on health and safety issues with: nutritious meal preparation, medication reminders, hygiene reminders, maintaining safety prodecures

  
  


• 
  

  Stay up-to-date on CEU's, policies and procedures

  
  

Requirements:

• 
  

  High school diploma or GED and be 21 years or older

  
  


• 
  

  Completion of a state-approved CNA or HHA certification training course

  
  


• 
  

  Current CPR (American Heart Association) Certification or BLS (CPR and AED)

  
  


• 
  

  HIV/AIDs course completion (HHA only)

  
  


• 
  

  Level 2 background check

  
  


• 
  

  Ability to think and work independently and with direction

  
  


• 
  

  Good communication skills and bedside manner with a compassionate personality

  
  

Weekly schedule:

• Weekend availability (required)


• Rotating weekends


• Overnights
