Job Description - Coding Specialist

This is a PRN position in our Corporate office in Fairfax, Virginia.

Who you are:

You’re a certified medical coder with a sharp eye for detail and experience in radiology coding. You work efficiently, stay compliant, and value accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

What you will do:

Review and finalize CPT, ICD-9, and modifier codes using NLP tools
Meet productivity goals (120 records/hour)
Audit automated coding for accuracy and report errors
Ensure HIPAA and regulatory compliance
Support quality improvement initiatives

What you bring:

High school diploma (degree preferred)
Active coding certification (AAPC, AHIMA, or RCCB)
2+ years coding in outpatient settings
Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-9, CCI, and modifiers
Proficiency with coding software and strong communication skills
