Job Description - Community Giving Manager

About GenPride
GenPride strengthens the wellbeing, power, and belonging of LGBTQIA2S+ elders in Seattle/King County. We create welcoming spaces, programs, and connections that honor lived experience, promote equity, and celebrate growing older with pride.

The Role
The Community Giving Manager is a strategic, relationship-driven leader responsible for growing monthly giving, supervising GenPride’s Communications Coordinator, donor engagement pathway and ensuring consistent, values-aligned messaging across fundraising and engagement initiatives. This is a part-time, hourly role with a flexible hybrid schedule, including in-person presence at the GenPride Center. Occasional extra hours are expected during campaigns, events, or seasonal giving periods.

Key Responsibilities

Community Giving

  • Lead, plan, and implement GenPride’s community giving programs, including individual donor appeals, monthly giving, and donor stewardship, with a focus on retention, growth, and long-term engagement.

  • Set, track, and meet established revenue goals and performance metrics for community giving initiatives.

  • Build and strengthen donor relationships by implementing consistent, donor-centered engagement and stewardship practices.

  • Maintain accurate and coordinated donor relationship management using the donor database, including tracking gifts, interactions, and outcomes.

  • Plan and lead community gatherings and donor-facing events, including outreach, logistics, coordination, and follow-up.

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director, key staff, and board members to advance community giving goals and strengthen donor participation.

  • Apply racial, aging, and LGBTQIA2S+ equity frameworks in daily work, communications, and decision-making.

  • Participate actively in team meetings, organizational learning, and culture-building practices.

Communications & Storytelling

  • Create clear, welcoming communication pathways for donors, volunteers, and LGBTQIA2S+ elders that foster belonging, trust, and connection to GenPride’s mission.

  • Lead donor-facing storytelling that centers the lived experiences, dignity, and resilience of LGBTQIA2S+ elders.

  • Supervise the Communications Coordinator, providing strategic direction, coaching, and support to ensure high-quality, mission-aligned work.

  • Collaborate across teams to integrate online and print communications with fundraising and engagement strategies.

  • Ensure consistent, values- and mission-aligned messaging across all platforms and audiences.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in major gifts, planned giving, or high-level donor relations in a nonprofit setting.

  • Proven track record of securing major gifts and/or planned gifts.

  • Experience coordinating donor events, house parties, or educational sessions.

  • Experience creating work plans that align financial and programmatic strategies.

  • Experience implementing detailed and complex work plans that include collaborating with all levels of the organization.

  • Strong interpersonal, relationship-building, and communication skills.

  • Experience with donor databases (Salesforce preferred) and reporting.

  • Strategic thinker with excellent organizational skills; able to manage multiple priorities.

Desired Attributes

  • Authentic connection to GenPride’s mission and the experiences of LGBTQIA2S+ older adults.

  • Deep commitment to racial, aging, and LGBTQIA2S+ equity in daily work.

  • Lifetime learner energized by community-centered work, and ready for growth, change, and transformation.

  • Skilled relationship builder across a wide range of people, identities, and lived experiences.

  • Collaborative, flexible, and communicative, able to share ideas, listen deeply, and engage in shared problem-solving.

  • Demonstrated humility, self-reflection, curiosity, and skill in repairing and maintaining professional relationships.

  • Comfortable giving and receiving feedback and adapting to change with care and accountability.
