Community Resource Navigator - Part-Time

Salary will be $25.00 per hour

Part-time position working up to 20 hours per week

Easterseals Florida is looking to fill our Apopka Community Resources Navigator position (for children and young adults).  The Community Resources Navigator works with families with children with disabilities in need of assistance.  The position is responsible for providing information about services for children with disabilities to their caregivers, making referrals to community resources, and conducting disability screenings for children under the age of five.   The Community Resource Navigator is responsible for community outreach to potential clients.  This position works extensively with community partners to identify clients and to ensure access to needed disability services.

A snapshot of what you'll do:

• Coordinate and collaborate with Orange County's neighborhood services, as well as local community programs, childcare centers and schools, to obtain referrals for children and their families in need of guidance and support to obtain evaluations and/or disability services
• Successfully integrate and participate in community events and committee membership within Orange County and with community partners

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in social work, education, or related field and two years of experience
• Experience/knowledge of the Apopka and/or Orange County social service network
• Experience working with diverse populations
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
• Ability to work independently and effectively with minimal on-site supervision
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills a bonus
• Ability to meet our approved driver qualifications in order to drive your personal vehicle, as required, for program-related needs (minimum age of 21 and good driving history)
