Overview:
The Community Youth Lead will be a key player in planning, coordinating, and delivering the Community Youth Services (CYS) program, focused on reducing youth delinquency, fostering community well-being, and empowering youth development. This role involves direct collaboration with stakeholders, program planning, and mentorship to advance the core mission of the CYS program.
Key Responsibilities:
· Design, plan, and coordinate youth-centered programs and activities that align with the objectives of the CYS program.
· Collaborate with community stakeholders, including schools, local organizations, and families, to ensure alignment and resource maximization.
· Deliver and facilitate program activities designed to support youth development, reduce delinquency, and improve community safety.
· Maintain detailed program records, including attendance tracking, progress reports, and program evaluations.
· Foster strong relationships with program participants, providing mentorship, support, and guidance to empower their personal growth.
· Organize and oversee program events, training, and workshops in collaboration with the Youth Committee and other stakeholders.
· Collect and analyze data for program evaluation, ensuring continuous improvement in service delivery.
· Contribute to the development of a Youth Referral Guide and Employment Resources Guide by engaging youth and community members in their creation.
· Act as a liaison between program participants and community resources, ensuring youth and families have access to needed services.
· Promote the values of inclusivity, diversity, equity, and community-building throughout all programming and interactions.
Qualifications:
· Experience in youth development, mentoring, or a closely related field.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with youth, families, and stakeholders.
· Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, and implement programs effectively.
· Familiarity with community resources and services catering to youth and families.
· Passion for working with youth and inspiring positive change in their lives and communities.
· Experience in program delivery, including managing budgets and overseeing events or workshops.
· Exceptional written and oral communication skills for developing resources and reports.
· Proficiency in data entry, analysis, and using technology for program management.
· Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team.
· A commitment to fostering youth development, enhancing community well-being, and reducing youth delinquency.
Work Environment:
This role will primarily take place at the Romain Arts & Culture Center, a state-of-the-art community space dedicated to serving youth and families within the Peoria area, particularly the 61603, 61604, and 61605 zip codes. Occasional travel within the community for stakeholder engagement, events, and outreach may be required.
