Counselor - Pennridge School District High/Elementary Schools

Job Description:

Lakeside Educational Network is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Counselor (part-time) to join our In-School Counselor Program. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students' mental and emotional well-being in the Pennridge School District in the High School and Elementary School, helping them to identify and manage issues that may be impacting their educational experience.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide individual and group counseling to students to address mental and emotional challenges.

- Knowledge and implementation of IEPs.

- Actively listen to students and ask insightful questions to help them understand their problems.

- Develop and implement strategies to assist students in improving their overall well-being and academic performance.

- Collaborate with school district staff to monitor student progress and facilitate transitions out of counseling services.

- Work with families to provide support and resources as needed.

- Connect students and families with community resources to enhance support systems.

Requirements:

Skills and Qualifications-

- Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field.

- Valid counseling license (LPC, LSW, LCSW, or LMFT) as required by state regulations.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and school staff.

- Experience in counseling or working with youth in an educational setting is preferred.

- Knowledge of mental health issues and community resources.

- Experience working within a school setting desired.
