Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Credentialing Specialist to join our team. This individual will be responsible for ensuring all clinical and non-clinical candidates meet the compliance and credentialing requirements of our healthcare clients. The ideal candidate will be familiar with healthcare credentialing processes, regulatory requirements, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced staffing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the end-to-end credentialing process for healthcare professionals, including initial credentialing, re-credentialing, and privileging.
Verify licensure, education, training, certifications, work history, and background checks according to client and regulatory standards.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date credentialing files and records in our internal systems and ensure data integrity.
Communicate with candidates, recruiters, healthcare facilities, and licensing boards to obtain and verify required documentation.
Ensure timely submission of credentialing packets to meet client onboarding deadlines.
Stay current with federal and state laws, regulatory guidelines, and payer requirements impacting credentialing and compliance.
Assist with audits and prepare reports related to credentialing status and compliance metrics.
Support continuous process improvement for credentialing workflows and documentation standards.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in credentialing or healthcare staffing environment strongly preferred.
Familiarity with The Joint Commission, NCQA, and other regulatory credentialing standards.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and applicant tracking or credentialing software (e.g., CAQH, Verity, MedTrainer).
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
