Description

The Kitchen Helper is responsible for assisting in food preparation and serving breakfast/lunch in the kitchen.  The ideal candidate for this position has previous experience preparing simple food for children. He/She needs to be willing to work in a busy restaurant environment and is capable of taking direction and multi-tasking effectively. He/She must be able to Loads carts, food warmers, trays, etc. for the purpose of ensuring that food and/or beverage items are available for transporting to other sites. He/She should have industry experience and a passion for food prep and strong customer service. He/She must have a cheerful and positive disposition reflecting Christlike characteristics. He/She must perform their job with a positive and joyful attitude.

• Takes food and beverage orders and accurately enters them into the ordering system 
• Help clean and maintain kitchen to meet all health codes. 
• Organize and deliver lunches to the necessary classrooms.  
• Handles cash and maintains adequate change. 
• Work is usually performed with other workers. 
• Help in planning menus, order/pick up food supplies, and receive supplies delivered. 
• Clearly have knowledge and understanding of policies and procedures. 
• Must be willing to obtain a Food Handlers permit

WORKING CONDITIONS 

• Able to open and close School Campus Facilities 
• Able to keep the campus safe and protected from the public during school hours. 
• Able to meet with staff, learners, and parents when dealing with behavioral issues. 
• Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach daily. 
• Able to perform general office administrative activities: copying, filing, delivering and using the telephone. 
• Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally. 

MENTAL WORK DEMANDS AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS 

• Regular and on-time attendance. 
• Hours not to exceed 40 hours per week. 
• Participation in at least two extracurricular activities throughout the year: Christmas Program, Family Fellowship Nights, Spring Program, etc.  
• Attend in-services and professional development meetings as deemed necessary by the Administration.
