Honoring Tradition, Camaraderie & Legacy Since 1871
TRYC was formally organized on July 1, 1871, electing its first commodore. A few weeks later, on July 26,1871, a fleet of Catboats lined up for the club’s first regatta. At stake was the Toms River Challenge Cup which is now the oldest perpetual trophy raced in the United States.
We are a year-round private club whose mission is to promote “friendly competition and interest in activities connected with sailing, boating and yachting”. From major national regattas to local racing to a vibrant Junior program with high school and college sailing, TRYC continues to be a premiere home for sailing and proud to be home to many nationally renowned sailors.
While sailing is at our core, the club also boasts a full social calendar and a sparkling pool overlooking the river. As an all-volunteer club, our members take pride in working together to create memorable events, big and small. TRYC also hosts private events such as weddings, birthday parties, showers, and more.
