Overflow Custodian Job Description
Overflow Church, 210 West Napier Ave, Benton Harbor, MI 49022
Part-Time (15–17 hours per week)

Overview:
Overflow Church is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented individual to maintain the cleanliness, appearance, and
sanitation of our church building. This role is essential in creating a welcoming and safe environment for our
congregation and guests.

Key Responsibilities:

Clean and sanitize restrooms, including sinks, toilets, and floors
Sweep, mop, and vacuum all flooring surfaces
Empty trash and dispose of waste appropriately, replace with new trash bags
Wipe down surfaces in common areas, including the lobby, sanctuary, classrooms, stairwells, green room,
lounge, and offices
Clean glass doors, windows, and mirrors as needed
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and fellowship hall areas
Restock restroom supplies (toilet paper, paper towels, soap, etc.)
Monitor and report building maintenance needs or damage
Water and tend to landscaping/plants around the building as needed
Prepare facility for services, events, and gatherings as needed

Qualifications:
Prior experience in cleaning or janitorial work preferred but not required
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
Ability to manage time efficiently and follow a cleaning schedule
Physically able to lift up to 25 lbs and perform repetitive tasks
Trustworthy and dependable, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and respect for the church
environment

Schedule:
Part-time, 15–17 hours per week
Flexible schedule, with availability needed before and/or after services and special events.
