Custodian/Maintenance Technician

Position Summary 

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Custodian/Maintenance Technician to support our facility with janitorial services and light building maintenance. This hands-on role is essential to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for staff and visitors. 

This position offers the opportunity to work in a clean, comfortable, and laid-back environment. The Custodian/Maintenance Technician will work 3 hours per day, 4 days a week, with the flexibility to choose either a morning or afternoon shift and days worked. One hour of each shift will occur before or after public hours, allowing for vacuuming or other more intrusive tasks to occur when the building is unoccupied. 

This is a part-time role, not eligible for benefits; in other words, employment in this position will not disrupt other state retirement benefit payments.

Custodial Duties: 

• Clean bathrooms daily 


• Vacuum carpets and mop hard floors 


• Collect trash and recycling 


• Dust surfaces and clean glass/walls as needed 


• Shampoo carpeted areas occasionally 


• Empty dishwasher weekly and clean kitchen appliances monthly 


• Stock paper supplies in restrooms and kitchens 
  
  

Light Maintenance: 

• Hang pictures and patch drywall 


• Change light bulbs and batteries 


• Unclog drains and perform minor furniture assembly 


• Conduct touch-up painting and workspace repairs 


• Coordinate with contractors for building and mechanical issues 


• Communicate supply needs to the Administrative Assistant 


• Drive company vehicle to procure supplies and run errands 
  
  

Additional Duties: 

• Move furniture and assist with event setup/teardown 


• Maintain outdoor areas, including trash removal and light groundskeeping 


• Shovel and salt pedestrian areas during inclement weather 


• Assist with the upcoming office move 


• Perform other duties as assigned 
  
  

Qualifications 

• Prior related experience preferred 


• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds 


• Ability to stand and perform physical tasks for extended periods 


• Ability to follow directions and maintain confidentiality 


• Strong work ethic and integrity 


• Positive interpersonal skills 


• Must pass background checks 


• Valid driver’s license required
