Location: Houses in the D.C. Metro Area. We meet at the houses to be staged
Duties. This role is primarily a furniture mover with a small component of interior design (training provided). The employee would be packing furniture meant for home stagings, loading them into a van in an organized manner, safely transporting the furniture to a house up to 50 miles away, and arranging the furniture in the house according to pictures they would be given. This involves minimal decorating and some understanding of what looks correct in a comfortable living environment.
The furniture is not as heavy as traditional furniture since it is meant for home stagings (essentially they are more props than functional)
Skills Needed:
Ability to lift 50lbs and move lightweight furniture up stairs
Coordination with a partner to arrange furniture in a house
Can drive a cargo van
Tasks
Packing Accessories
- load fragile ornaments into a box and carefully pack them for transport
- Understand best packing methods for loading furniture into a truck
Team Coordination
- Communicating so that a house is arranged as fast as possible
- Making sure leadership knows about damaged inventory and issues with the house
- Fixing furniture according the needs of the stylist
Styling/Decorating Houses
- Using pictures to decorate a house in order to match the photo
- Understanding when furniture doesn’t look right or functional in a house
- Hanging pictures and mirrors
- TERMS.
- Start Date. Anytime
- Employment. This is a Contractor position. We can pay hourly or by the job. Most work will be done starting at 10am
- Pay. Hourly rate of $20-$25 depending on experience. Alternatively we can pay by the job depending on the size of the job
- Schedule: 10am start. Time depends on the number of jobs in the day
CONDITIONS.
- Experience? Preference is to have some job experience in any job environment
- Background Report Required? Felony records only
- Must have a Car
