POSITION SUMMARY:

Food comforts the soul and excites the taste buds! As a Dining Associate, your role in bringing delicious meals to our residents is crucial. From start to finish, this position serves as a Dietary Assistant, Prep Cook, and/or Dishwasher. You'll prepare food and drinks, serve meals, follow menus and recipes, restock inventory, and keep records. By following sanitation, food handling, and safety policies, as well as building relationships with those around you, you will provide excellent service to our residents.

RATE OF PAY:

• The starting base rate of pay for a Dining Associate is $14.50 - $18.64 per hour, based upon previous experiences and qualifications.

WORK SCHEDULE: 

Schedule will be provided in advance, based upon staffing needs:

Part Time

• 5:30am - 2:00pm
• 2-3 days during the week (and) every other weekend

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED equivalent is preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in Dining/Food Services preferred but not required (such as cooking/serving food).
• Position requires long hours standing with the ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
• Be able to read, write, speak, and understand the basics of the English language and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Possess basic mathematical skills, such as addition and subtraction.
• Ability to act and intervene independently in routine and emergency situations.
• Ability to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as scheduled.
• Willingness to cross-train in various job duties within VMRC Dining Services.
• Ability to deal tactfully with residents, families, coworkers, and the general public in a positive, professional, and customer-first manner.
• Fluency in a second language is a plus.
