The ideal candidate for the Donor Engagement Specialist role is an outgoing and enthusiastic individual who thrives on building meaningful relationships. They should be comfortable meeting new people, initiating conversations, and representing our mission with passion and authenticity. This role requires a willingness to attend events and outreach activities across Washington, Greene, and Fayette counties, engaging with current and prospective donors in a variety of settings. The right person will have a natural ability to connect with others, inspire interest in our cause, and foster long-term support for our organization's work.
The ideal candidate will have existing relationships with, or willingness to establish relationships in, Washington, Greene, and Fayette Counties. This position is expected to average 24 hours per week, but may vary with the needs of the Agency.

DVSSP is open to direct W2 hire or Contract work for this role.
Job Duties
• Responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive community fundraising strategy including planned giving, corporate and foundation giving, special events, and major gifts.
• Work closely with the Executive Team and Board of Directors to develop fundraising strategies and goals that align with DVSSP’s values.
• Work in tandem with the Communications Specialist to create effective donor communications and donor centric
marketing materials.
• Network and nurture agency presence in the community.
• Attend outreach events in Washington, Greene, and Fayette counties to bolster DVSSP presence and engage with active
and potential donors.
• Establish, nurture, and maintain good working relationships with other community agencies/organizations, connecting
those entities with the appropriate DVSSP site.
• Network and nurture agency presence and relationships within the community liaising with fundraising groups, funders,
and community supporters.
• Complete monthly reports for funders as directed. Prepare and submit timely reports on all activities as directed.
• Ensure all information disseminated by DVSSP is correct and current and that all staff are briefed/notified regarding any
updates to materials/information.
• Relaying information about community events to appropriate members of staff as relevant.
• Write and administer grants as requested.
• Ensure agency participation and support of national awareness campaigns as directed.
• Participate in general advocacy activities on behalf of domestic violence victims on a local, state, and national level to
assure an increased awareness regarding the issues of domestic violence by the general public and policy makers.
• Participate in and promote DVSSP fundraising activities.
• Attend meetings/trainings relative to position as approved.
• Maintain facility, staff, volunteer, and client confidentiality at all times.
• Exhibit exemplary reliability and dependability.

Skills, Abilities, Education, Qualifications, and Experience
• M.A., B.A., or B.S. in related field (M.A. preferred) or equivalent work experience
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain diverse networks with stakeholders
• Demonstrated experience working autonomously, with strong organizational skills
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with demonstrated training skills
• Collaborate with peers and other departments within the agency
• Working knowledge of community resources
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Proficient computer, Internet, and email skills
Clearances, Licenses, and Physical Requirements
• Final determination of suitability for employment will be contingent upon a successful:
• Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) fingerprint processed in accordance with Public Law 92-522 and the Child
Protective Services Law (Title 23, Pa C.S. Chapter 63), Federal Criminal History Background Check
• Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance
• PA State Police Report of Criminal History Clearance
• Possess current PA driver’s license, insurance, and reliable vehicle
