Sigvaris is currently looking for a DQS Set Up Operator I to join our team in Peachtree City, GA. As a leading compression solution provider, we are not just a company that manufactures products. We are a global team on a mission to help people eel their best. The DQS Set Up Operator I is responsible in performing style changes on machines running in the Knitting room.
SHIFT:
• Monday to Thursday
• 2nd: 4 p.m. to 2 a.m.*
*Training during the first few weeks will be during the 1st shift. Hours will be from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
PAY PLUS BONUS:
• $20.75 per hour plus shift differential. Automatic $0.50 increase every six months during the first year of employment.
• Opportunity to earn $100 Attendance Bonus payments per quarter. *

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Performs Daily Quality Sheet (DQS) on all machines running in the Knitting Room and make adjustments if needed.
• Performs Set-Up changes on all machines running in the Knitting Room.
• Assists Knitters and Technicians with keeping the machines running.
• Supports Continuous Improvement and all lean manufacturing initiatives including kaizens and6S.
• Performs all the measures needed to fill out the DQS sheet and on all machines once per shift.
• Maintains all documentation from the DQS measurements.
• Ties yarn onto machines.
• Enters programs into machines.
• Makes adjustments to machines in order for it to run the new style.
• Follows written and oral instructions in order to meet production standards in all areas.
• Threads up during yarn breaks and clears alarms.
• Serves as a backup to the knitter.
• Perform miscellaneous jobs to assist the knitter, including yarn tickets, creeling, inspection and paperwork.
• Set-up/sizing of different styles/series on machines and proper sizing to specification before releasing to production.
• Fosters positive morale among staff, by promotion of open communication with all departments, to help create and maintain an innovative and cooperative staff relationship and environment.
o Interacts with external and internal customers in a manner conducive to continued positive relationships.
o Displays patience, courtesy and tact; demonstrates flexibility, enthusiasm and willingness to cooperate while working with others or in place of others as necessary.
• Demonstrates effective communication methods.
o Knitting Supervisor and/or appropriate management staff are kept informed of developments affecting their functions.
o Responds quickly to all oral and written communications.
o Maintains and encourages an open line of communication with both internal and external customers.
o Accurately and legibly presents written data to affected internal/external customer.
• Follows established company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with SIGVARIS policies, industry standards, ISO 13485 standards, and Federal, State and local laws.
• Follows all work instructions, creates and maintains accurate records to meet all internal and external requirements to support the SIGVARIS Quality System and Quality Policy.
• Accurately performs any other duties and responsibilities as assigned to ensure an efficient workflow.
EDUCATION and WORK EXPERIENCE:
• A high school diploma or equivalent/GED.
• Prefer someone who has experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Circular Knitting machine experience is a plus!
SKILLS:
• Ability to read and write which includes the ability to read a spec sheet.
• Ability to read a ruler.
• Good mechanical aptitude
• Good communication skills
• Demonstrated competencies in: teamwork, professional demeanor, quality, job knowledge, communication, problem solving, flexibility, attendance and timeliness.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This job operates in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Required to work in controlled environments (hot or cold).
• Able to stand and walk from machine to machine for long periods of time.
• Ability to walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, kneel, bend, crouch, lift or climb.
• Finger dexterity and hand coordination required.
• Specific vision abilities required for this job include: close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust or focus.
