Job Summary

The DROS Clerk/Cashier will be processing all DROS/background check documents and store transactions with customers accurately and efficiently. The DROS CLERK/CASHIER is responsible for ensuring all necessary firearms paperwork is completed in compliance with legal requirements, operating a point-of-sale (POS) system, processing customer sales by scanning items and collecting payments while delivering friendly customer service.

**Part-Time Position - up to 24 hours per week. ***

Responsibilities

Executes all required firearms paperwork within legal parameters

Follow all store procedures regarding the purchase of specific items, such as guns or ammo

Maintain a constant awareness of firearm safety

Operating the point-of-sale (POS) system, processing payments, handling returns and managing customer transactions efficiently and accurately. Prove a receipt to every customer

Welcome customers entering or leaving the store, answer their questions, help them locate items, and provide recommendations

Follows all company policies and procedures

Stock shelves and maintain a clean environment

Qualifications

Must be 21 years or older

Legally eligible to work in a firearm environment.

Ability to obtain a Certificate of Eligibility

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings.

High School graduate or GED certificate

Knowledge in Federal and State Regulations preferred but not required

Intermediate working knowledge of PC and able to grasp instruction to new software programs

Familiarity with cash register or other point-of-sale system (POS)

Able to type 30 wpm and use ten key

Prior retail or sales experience and cash handling preferred

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Must be able to stand, sit, bend, and lift throughout the course of a scheduled shift.

Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment

Must be able to work in tight and confined spaces

Must be able to work in noisy environments

Compensation: $18.00 per hour
