Location: NE Portland (East Portland/Near Gresham).
Schedule: Fridays after 3PM and flexible weekend shifts available.
Occasional overnight care is needed.
Monday, Wednesday and Friday availability for summer and school vacations.
About the client: We are seeking a friendly, compassionate, and culturally aware Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support a loving and enthusiastic 10-year-old girl who thrives on connection. She enjoys exploring her community, socializing, helping others, and engaging in activities such as reading, drawing and crafts.
The ideal candidate is someone who is patient, understanding, and able to provide gentle encouragement and motivation. This role is perfect for someone who can both be a supportive caregiver and a positive companion who respects, values and empowers her voice and individuality.
She is building her independence in her daily living skills and may require prompting and support with personal care tasks such as hygiene, toileting, bathing and dressing. This position is also well-suited for someone who can help
Responsibilities:
Demonstrate cultural awareness and respect for the individuals beliefs and religious practices
Provide support during community outings, as needed
Assist with personal care and hygiene when necessary
Offer companionship and emotional support
Adapt to the client’s developmental level and communication style

Direct Support Professional (DSP) / In Home Care Giver Responsibilities and Duties:
This role involves caring for a client on an individual basis in their home environment as well as taking them out into the community to learn skills and socialize. This role varies depending on the client but can involve teaching skills of independent living such as self-care, behavior management, budgeting, cooking, shopping and cleaning. Family Relief Resources is not a physical facility -100% of activities happen in the community or a client’s home.
