Empower, Support, and Make a Difference
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and motivated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide one-on-one support to a friendly 21-year-old male. The ideal candidate will assist with daily routines, encourage independence, and help develop life-enhancing skills in a supportive, respectful, and engaging manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide daily reminders and support with personal hygiene
- Encourage and assist with physical activity and healthy routines
- Support light home cleaning and organization
- Help develop and maintain a structured weekly schedule focused on “Everyday Life” goals
- Positively motivate and engage the individual in daily tasks and skill-building
- Provide support during moments of agitation with effective coping strategies
- Tutor and reinforce basic reading skills
- Assist in behavior support and redirection, especially in response to loud or overwhelming environments
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, or Special Education, or Education, or RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) certification required
- Experience working with individuals with behavioral support needs, required
- Skilled in motivational and strengths-based support approaches
- Calm and resourceful under pressure or during agitation
- Strong communication and tutoring skills
- Patience, creativity, and a good sense of humor are a must!
Schedule:
Flexible daytime hours – Monday through Friday, any 4 days per week, from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM
