Job Responsibilities

• Provide educational consultations for parents/potential parents in the early processes of assignment, pre-field training, and launch. Provide consultations for families on the field and on home assignment, as needed. Provide consultations for recruitment leads/candidates, as requested.

• Consult and support JAARS field-assigned families using traditional and nontraditional education programs.

• Point JAARS families to resources for educational needs.

• Evaluate nontraditional educational materials and maintain a resource collection for JAARS field-assigned parents and teachers.

• Relate and collaborate with JAARS partner organizations concerning third culture kid (TCK) education.

• Work collaboratively with other educational consultants, the Youth & Family Ministries team and the Launch Department.

• Manage the educational consultant email.

• Give input about area budget considerations.

• Travel Requirements: May occasionally travel domestically or overseas as needed for events. .

Job Requirements

• Embrace the vA ision, mission, and core values of JAARS

• Master’s degree plus 3-5 years of experience with a special education background (is preferred); or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. 

• Professional Association of Cross-Cultural Consultants in Education (PACE) certification (or willing to obtain certification while in the role).

• Homeschooling and/or overseas ministry experience are preferred.

• Global Education Care Orientation (GECO) or equivalent as determined by supervisor.
