Position: EHS Manager
Shift: Day Shift

Compensation: Depending on Experience $75K- $100 K

Overview of Role:

The EHS Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization's environmental, health, and safety programs, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies. This role involves identifying and mitigating workplace hazards, promoting a safe and healthy work environment, and driving initiatives to improve sustainability. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a comprehensive understanding of EHS regulations, and a commitment to promoting a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.

Key Deliverables:

  • Develop, implement, and manage the company’s environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure a safe and compliant workplace.
  • Conduct regular EHS audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Develop and deliver employee safety training programs to promote a safety culture.
  • Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Monitor environmental practices to ensure adherence to sustainability standards and reduce the company’s environmental footprint.
  • Stay current with changes in EHS regulations and ensure the company is compliant with all applicable laws and standards.
  • Collaborate with management and other departments to create EHS-related policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain EHS reporting systems, track key performance indicators and present findings to senior management.
  • Lead initiatives to improve waste management, energy use, and resource conservation.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of safety equipment and emergency response plans.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees on EHS issues, promoting a proactive approach to health and safety.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in an EHS management role, preferably within [specific industry].
  • In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations, safety management systems, and environmental compliance.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive change and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Certification in EHS-related fields (e.g., Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or equivalent) is highly desirable.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in environmental management, Occupational Health, or a related field.
  • Experience in implementing sustainability programs and environmental stewardship initiatives.
  • Experience with Environmental Management Systems (e.g., ISO 14001) and Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (e.g., ISO 45001).
  • Knowledge of risk management tools and techniques.
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR.
  • Experience with EHS software and reporting tools (e.g., Intelex, Enablon, etc.).

Technology Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with EHS software systems for reporting and tracking (e.g., Intelex, Enablon, SAP EHS).
  • Familiarity with environmental monitoring tools and safety equipment.
  • Ability to work with data analysis tools for tracking incidents, hazards, and EHS performance metrics.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying risks and implementing solutions.
  • A willingness to work in various locations, as necessary, to support company operations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to organizational standards and policies.
