Elementary Math Tutor

Elementary Math Tutor (Grades K–6)
Carlsbad & Oceanside, CA | After-School Hours 

We are looking for a patient and enthusiastic Elementary Math Tutor to support students in grades K–5 in the Carlsbad and Oceanside areas. This is an in-person tutoring role during the after-school window, ideally between 3–5pm.

This is a great opportunity for current teachers, substitute teachers, student teachers, and education majors or anyone who want to make a direct impact outside the classroom with flexible hours.

What You’ll Do

• 
  

  Provide one-on-one tutoring in elementary math concepts (number sense, addition/subtraction, multiplication/division, fractions, problem-solving, etc.)

  
  


• 
  

  Build students’ confidence by reinforcing foundational skills and encouraging a positive attitude toward math

  
  


• 
  

  Adapt instruction to each child’s needs and learning style

  
  


• 
  

  Communicate progress with families and our team through session reports

  
  

What We’re Looking For

• 
  

  Strong knowledge of elementary-level math

  
  


• 
  

  Tutoring or teaching experience with K–5 students preferred

  
  


• 
  

  Patient, supportive, and encouraging teaching style

  
  


• 
  

  Reliable, professional, and punctual

  
  


• 
  

  Must have reliable transportation to travel to student homes in Carlsbad and Oceanside

  
  


• 
  

  Availability between 3–5pm on weekdays

  
  

Qualifications

• 
  

  Bachelor’s degree (or working toward one) in education, math, or related field preferred

  
  


• 
  

  Previous experience tutoring or teaching elementary students is a plus

  
  


• 
  

  Strong communication skills with students and parents
