What You'll Be Doing (Besides being a superhero for pets!):

• Performing expert phone triage for incoming emergencies, providing crucial advice and determining the urgency of care.
• Calmly and compassionately communicating with distressed pet owners, offering reassurance and clear instructions.
• Maintaining impeccable and thorough documentation of all client communications and patient interactions.
• Monitoring our patient management system to proactively assess and ensure the appropriateness of care for patients awaiting transport or in-hospital evaluation.
• Potentially assisting with vital tasks such as reviewing discharge instructions with owners, creating and explaining invoices, processing payments, and providing timely patient updates.
• Embracing other duties as they arise, utilizing your extensive ECC background to support the seamless operation of our emergency service.

Requirements

 What You Bring to the Table:

• Extensive, in-depth knowledge of veterinary emergencies, critical care, and triage protocols.
• Proven ability to effectively and accurately triage pet emergencies over the phone.
• An exceptionally calm, comforting, and clear speaking voice.
• Unwavering patience and empathy for worried pet owners.
• Superior grammar and written communication skills.
• Adeptness at thorough and accurate documentation.
• Familiarity with veterinary electronic medical record software (e.g., ezyVet).
• A passion for animal well-being and a commitment to providing exceptional client service.
• Certified/licensed veterinary technician preferred, but not required
• Work one weekend day per week
