Job Description - Event Attendant

GENERAL PURPOSE:
 


The Events Attendant is responsible for building positive, friendly relationships with event attendees. Responsibilities also include ensuring safety, adherence to rules and regulations, and the enjoyment of the attendees.  


Specific responsibilities in this area are highlighted below. Incumbent must demonstrate a strong personal commitment to the mission and goals of the Belton Parks & Recreation Department and carry out their assigned responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. 


 


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 


The following duties are not intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed by the individual in this classification, only a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities.  Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be  to perform additional, position-specific duties as assigned. 



  • Provide the highest quality service, striving to exceed the client’s expectation.   



  • Serve as the face of Memorial Station during events of all sizes.  



  • Responsible for logging actual duties performed during shift.  



  • Responsible for communicating clients’ needs and issues to the Memorial Station Supervisor.  



  • Assumes onsite responsibility during events, overseeing all vendors to ensure compliance with building policies and procedures.  



  • Sets up all outdoor patio weddings/receptions and removes all furniture at event’s conclusion.  



  • Handle customer service inquiries and related issues.  



  • Acts as the liaison between the client on all outside vendors.  



  • Supervises all onsite activities to ensure policy and procedures are followed for the safety of all in attendance.  



  • Responsible for always keeping Memorial Station safe and clean at all times during events worked.  



  • Strictly enforces all building policies and procedures.  



  • Be knowledgeable of all Memorial Station policies and procedures.   



  • Responsible for closing duties, including, but not limited to taking out the trash and securing the building.  



  • Attend training sessions and meetings when  



  • Maintain a professional image in the Belton Parks and in the community.  



  • Other duties as assigned by the Memorial Station Supervisor.   


 


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 


Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:  



  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.  



  • Ability to work independently and to complete activities according to work schedule.  



  • Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.  



  • Ability to exhibit a positive approach in public contact and a calm nature in problem-solving situations.  



  • Ability to life heavy loads of tables and chairs in excess of 50 pounds.  



  • Knowledge of pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations.  


 


Education and Experience: 



  • High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred.    



  • Previous experience in customer service preferred.   



  • Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications preferred. 


 


Physical Requirements:  



  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk; and use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls.  



  • The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. 



  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 



  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 



  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. 



  • Subject to working weekend, early morning, and evening hours.  



  • Must maintain a physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities, which may include working closely with others, high levels of public contact, and irregular working hours.  



  • The noise level in the work environment is subject to high and low levels based on the nature of the client.
