Event Support (PT)
The primary responsibility of the event support staff is to provide support for any internal and/or external, non-school related program or activity. This includes rental events, and in-house events, meetings and programs.

This is a United Steelworkers represented position

Reports to:        Events Manager
Hours:                No set schedule. Evening, weekend and holiday work required. Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments to include a variety of weather and temperature conditions. Work hours vary, and may be during the day, evening or nighttime hours. This is a part time position where the schedule will be based on venue rentals and event support needs.
Status:                Part-time, hourly position
Hourly Rate:   $14.76 per hour

Responsibilities:

Closely monitors the site calendar to be familiar with upcoming events and their needs
Coordinates with outside vendors, as directed by the Events Manger, to assist with equipment and vendor load-in assistance
Before, during and after an event, works closely with the events management team to determine what assistance is needed.
Monitors event execution, addresses areas of improvement, and facilitates event shutdown.
Provides outstanding service to guests through the entire event process.
Meets with potential clients and assists staff with facility tours.
Documents event details and provides input on the improvement and advancement of the Events team.
Tracks correct documentation and payment collections from clients and vendors.

Qualifications:

Efficient in Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel
Friendly, helpful disposition, and a desire to provide stellar customer service to staff and visitors.
Clearance of a criminal background check
Must have a valid Driver’s License
Creative thinker with the ability to think-on-your-feet
The ability to work a flexible schedule – nights & weekends
Ability to work independently
Ability to walk for periods of time.
