What the Events Line Cook does! 

As an Events Line Cook, you’ll execute seasonal menu items designed around world class Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays for winery events. Working at the Los Gatos Winery in one of our historic cellars, and at the offsite San Jose kitchen on occasion, the day to day may include: 

  • Preparing menu items at our off-site kitchen and assisting with other culinary tasks
  • Executing menu items at the Los Gatos winery including plating of salad, entrees, appetizers and desserts and buffet items based on the design of the Chef de Cuisine
  • Setting up, breaking down and cleaning, including food transport from catering van
  • Organizing, rotating, and assessing inventory levels of food storage areas 
  • Working efficiently in a face-paced environment

Requirements

As an Events Line Cook, you will bring:

  • 1+ year of kitchen experience or equivalent culinary education
  • Catering or fine dining experience preferred
  • Reliable transportation to Los Gatos (public transport not available) and San Jose
  • Safe knife skills 
  • Ability to work effectively in a team, be proactive, have a sense of urgency, a positive attitude and effective communication
  • ServSafe and/or California Food Handlers Certification (offered upon hire)

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Must be available a minimum of 3 days per week, including holidays and weekends 
  • Walk, stand, bend, kneel, and reach frequently for the duration of the shift 
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently
  • Handles sharp and hot tools regularly
  • Frequently utilizes cleaning chemicals
  • Drive to/from the offsite kitchen in San Jose to the Winery in Los Gatos, as needed
