Facilities Assistant

To assist in the property operation and maintenance of the Safehouse at WINGS Metro.

Key Responsibilities:

•     Perform routine maintenance tasks such as deep cleaning, touch-up painting and basic repairs 

such as simple plumbing, light fixture maintenance and assembly of furniture.

•     Coordinate with contractors when outside work is scheduled.

•     Ensure the facility is safe and secure including conducting daily inspections and reporting 

potential hazards.

•     Maintain inventory of items necessary for the house to operate such as toilet paper, garbage 

bags, etc.

•     Assist with set-up and breakdown for events.

•     Apply practical problem-solving skills to address on-the-spot challenges during repair and 

maintenance tasks.

•     High School Diploma or equivalent required.

•     Experience with basic plumbing and HVAC knowledge required.

•     Knowledge of the proper cleaning solutions and techniques to be used on various surfaces 

required.

•     Ability to troubleshoot causes of maintenance problems and help implement long-term solutions 

to prevent recurrence.

•     Bilingual skills (Spanish) preferred.

•     Ability to work proactively, independently and take direction all with attention to detail.

•     Ability to handle physical requirements to accomplish daily responsibilities, including but not limited to lifting up to 35 pounds using both hands/arms on a regular basis, climbing stairs, and standing for 8 hours.
