Facilities Maintenance - Part-Time

Job Summary

The Part-Time Facilities Maintenance Specialist is responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections to ensure the safety, functionality, and cleanliness of city facilities. This position requires a proactive individual with basic skills in building maintenance, mechanical systems, and custodial tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and maintenance of facilities, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and lighting.


• Conduct minor repairs, such as painting, carpentry, and basic plumbing.


• Respond to maintenance requests and emergencies in a timely manner.


• Perform custodial duties, including cleaning common areas, emptying trash, and maintaining restrooms as needed.


• Assist in setting up and taking down furniture and equipment for events and meetings.


• Monitor and maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and tools.


• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols while performing tasks.


• Identifying and reporting larger repair needs or safety concerns to the City Manager.


• Perform seasonal maintenance tasks, such as snow removal.
  

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.


• At least one year of experience in building maintenance, facilities management, or a related field.
  
  

Skills and Abilities:

• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general maintenance techniques.


• Ability to use tools and equipment safely and effectively.


• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.


• Good time management and organizational skills.


• Excellent communication skills to coordinate with staff and report issues.
  
  

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.


• Frequent walking, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.


• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
  
  

Work Schedule

• Part-time, typically 25-29 hours per week.


• Schedule may be flexible utilizing evenings or weekends needed.
