Job Description

Job Title:                          Family Life – Parish Support

Reports To:                     Business Manager

FLSA Status:                    Non-Exempt – Part-Time

SUMMARY

The parish Family Life Coordinator maintains all records and coordinates all weddings and Quinceaneras and preference is to be Bilingual (Spanish/ English)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

· Coordinate all Weddings, schedules for Parishioners  

· Assure that fees are collected for the events

· Instruct the couples on all procedures before the celebration.

· Prepare the church for the event

· Conduct rehearsals with the candidates and attend the ceremony for guidance to the couples.

· Coordinate Quinceanera’s celebrations

· Assist with rehearsals as well as the celebrations. 

Additional Responsibilities

· Attends required meetings and workshops as required.

· Provides general office support as needed. 

· Performs additional projects as required by the Pastor.

· Assist with all other Family Life requirements.

· Assist with other office duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, have a strong work ethic, and be able set an ethical tone for the conduct of Diocesan business. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrated technical ability in accounting and / or finance with five to eight years of professional experience in positions of increasing responsibility.
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, and Foccus

OTHER DESIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with an ability to resolve family issues. 
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills with an ability to work effectively with Lay staff and clergy (Bi-lingual in English and Spanish a plus).
  • Excellent analytical skills with an ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The ability to sit and stand for long periods of time. Must be able to reach, grasp, feel, and see up close and from afar. Must be able to use basic office computer hardware and peripherals, with or without reasonable accommodation. Must be able to communicate verbally and in written form.
