Job Description - Family Medicine Clerkship Director

Join our team as the Family Medicine Clerkship Director, (or Co-Director) a pivotal faculty role responsible for leading and continuously improving the Family Medicine clinical rotation (core clerkship)! This position ensures that all learning experiences meet institutional goals, COCA accreditation standards, and the educational needs of students.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership & Administration: Oversee all aspects of the Family Medicine clerkship, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards and institutional objectives. Manage resources, faculty, and evaluation systems to deliver a high-quality experience.
Curriculum & Assessment: Maintain and enhance the clerkship curriculum, integrating osteopathic principles and national standards. Monitor student performance and implement data-driven improvements.
Student Support: Foster a supportive learning environment, address student concerns, and mentor those pursuing Family Medicine or primary care careers.
Faculty & Site Oversight: Supervise faculty, conduct site visits, and ensure consistent teaching quality across affiliated clinical sites.
Outreach & Engagement: Build relationships with hospitals, clinics, and community partners. Represent Family Medicine within regional networks and professional organizations.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Certification:

Terminal degree (DO) in requisite area of expertise
Board certified (AOA or ABMS) with clinical expertise in family medicine.
Subject matter expertise relevant to department focus
Subject matter expertise in evidence-based osteopathic practice

Experience:
Teaching experience with medical students or resident physicians with progressive leadership experience.

Exceptional at written, oral presentation, and listening skills.
Able to work independently yet is an effective participant in cross-functional teams.
Self-motivated, self-disciplined, have a strong work ethic and capable of establishing priorities in an executive setting.
Flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities and effectively handle frequent interruptions.
Innovative, resourceful, detailed oriented, with excellent follow-through skills.
Capable of balancing multiple projects in stressful situations while meeting deadlines, achieving desired results, and maintaining positive relations while understanding the importance of confidentiality of data and information.
