Job Summary

The Firearms Sales Associate is responsible for maintaining Counter Sales and Customer Service for Firearms along with Floor and Counter Sales of other merchandise. They perform various selling/customer service activities, to include greeting and acknowledging all customers, handling merchandise with care, providing information, assistance and direction to customers.

**Part-Time Position - up to 24 hours per week. ***

Responsibilities

Welcome customers entering or leaving the store, answer their questions, assist them locate items, and provide recommendations

Safely demonstrate firearm products to customers

Follow all store procedures regarding the purchase of specific items, such as firearms or ammo

Maintain a constant awareness of firearm safety

Operating a point-of-sale (POS) system; processing customer sales by scanning items and collecting payments

Assists in executing all required firearms paperwork within legal parameters.

May participate in inventory tasks

Follows all company policies and procedures

Stock shelves and maintain a clean environment

ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

Qualifications

Must be 21 years or older

Legally eligible to work in a firearm environment.

Ability to obtain a Certificate of Eligibility

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings

High School graduate or GED certificate

Product knowledge of Firearms and Ammunition

Basic PC knowledge and able to grasp instruction to new software programs

Prior retail or sales of firearms and ammunition experience preferred but not required.

Knowledge in Federal and State Regulations preferred but not required

Familiarity with cash register or other point-of-sale system (POS)

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.

Must be able to stand, sit, bend, and lift throughout the course of a scheduled shift.

Must be able to multitask and work in a fast paced environment

Must be able to occasionally work in tight and confined spaces

Must be able to occasionally work in noisy environments

Compensation: $18.00 per hour
