Flangeline Operator-Night Shift (Broussard, LA)

Hours 6:00 pm-6:30 am

Job Summary:  

The Flangeline Operator is responsible for handling flatbar materials used in flange production, ensuring precise cutting, welding, and assembly based on technical drawings and specifications. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality in the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate flanging equipment to cut flatbar materials to specified dimensions as per technical drawings.
• Weld flatbar components together according to specific project requirements and blueprints.
• Inspect finished flanges and welded assemblies to ensure accuracy and compliance with quality standards.
• Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine material specifications and production needs.
• Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and calibration of flanging equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate repairs when necessary.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to achieve production goals efficiently and effectively.
• Maintain accurate records of production activities and report any discrepancies or issues to the Structural Foreman.
• Adhere to workplace safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with safe work practices.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (technical training in machine operation or welding preferred).
• 2+ years of experience operating flanging equipment or working with flatbar materials in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in welding techniques and familiarity with welding equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings with precision.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

• Frequent standing, bending, and lifting of materials weighing up to 75 pounds.
• Regular exposure to noise, heat, and airborne particles in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to wear required protective equipment, such as gloves, goggles, and steel-toed boots.
